What’s it like to do your Open Water Course with New Heaven Dive School? And what will you learn?
Our SSI Open Water Course is designed to be a fun, safe, and relaxed introduction to scuba diving. We start slowly and gently, so you can feel comfortable every step of the way.
Your journey begins in our small, friendly classroom, with a beautiful view of Chalok Bay at Koppee Restaurant, where you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving, how pressure affects your body underwater, how to use your scuba equipment, and what to expect during your dives. It’s all taught in a clear and easy-to-understand way, with plenty of time to ask questions and get hands-on with the gear.
We begin each day around 9:00 AM with a theory session, and then head out to the dive boat around 10:30 AM. Everything is designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, with no early starts or rush!
Once we arrive at the dive site, usually a calm, shallow bay sheltered from wind and waves, you’ll set up your equipment and head underwater to start practicing your skills. You’ll learn everything from how to breathe and move comfortably in the water to important safety techniques that every diver should know.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only earn your internationally recognized SSI Open Water Diver certification, but you’ll also gain the confidence to dive anywhere in the world. But don’t forget, practice always makes perfect, better continue scuba diving after your first dive certification to make sure you become a proper fish!
